Perinatal Trauma Therapy Columbus, OH
What is Perinatal Trauma
The journey into parenthood is often portrayed as joyful or the best experience of your life, but for many, it can also include experiences that are frightening, overwhelming, or deeply painful. Perinatal trauma can result from infertility, pregnancy complications, birth trauma, pregnancy or infant loss, NICU experiences, postpartum depression or anxiety, or feeling unsupported during pregnancy and childbirth. These experiences can stay with you, including anxiety, depression, grief, intrusive memories, feelings of guilt or shame, and difficulty bonding with your baby or trusting yourself. You don't have to carry these experiences alone. In a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space, we'll work together to process what you've been through, reduce the emotional impact of trauma, and help you reconnect with yourself as you move toward healing. I utilize EMDR, therapy and it can help you find relief, regain a sense of safety, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
